AS/RS Traffic Control — Aisle Interlock Violation

ASRS-TRAF1

AS/RS traffic management detected an aisle interlock violation. Two cranes attempting to enter the same aisle, or a crane in an aisle where personnel access is active.

Probable Causes (ranked)

Fix Steps

  1. 1 Verify both cranes' positions — confirm no actual collision risk before proceeding
  2. 2 Check aisle boundary sensors — each aisle should have presence detection at entry/exit
  3. 3 Verify WCS communication to all cranes — check network connections
  4. 4 If personnel access gate triggered, walk the aisle to verify no personnel present before clearing
  5. 5 Do NOT override traffic interlocks without physically verifying the aisle is clear
  6. 6 Reset traffic violation from WCS operator station after confirming safe conditions

Field Trick

When a traffic interlock trips, NEVER clear it from the control room without physically verifying the aisle. AS/RS aisles are tight — if a person is in the aisle and you clear the interlock, the crane will move. Take the 5-minute walk to visually confirm the aisle is clear. Every time. No exceptions.
