PowerFlex 525 Parameter Lockout — Security Code Active

AB-PF525-P046

PowerFlex 525 parameter editing is locked. A security code has been set and must be entered before any parameter changes can be made.

Probable Causes (ranked)

Fix Steps

  1. 1 Navigate to parameter P046 (Security Code) on the drive keypad
  2. 2 Enter the correct security code — check commissioning documents, panel drawings, or ask the OEM
  3. 3 If code is unknown, try common defaults: 0000, 1234, 9999, or the last 4 digits of the drive serial number
  4. 4 As a LAST resort: perform a factory reset (hold the Stop/Reset key for 10 seconds while powering up) — this resets ALL parameters including the security code
  5. 5 After factory reset, you must reprogram all parameters from backup — motor, application, and communication settings
  6. 6 Document the security code on the inside of the panel door for future reference

Field Trick

If you reset a PowerFlex 525 to factory defaults to clear a forgotten security code, you lose EVERY parameter including the motor data. If you don't have a parameter backup, you need to re-commission the entire drive. ALWAYS try to find the code before resetting — check panel door, OEM docs, and the integrator's contact info first.
