Piler Lift Limit Switch Fault

10039

Lift mechanism is not confirming a required position via limit switch or proximity sensor. Machine is waiting for a position confirmation signal that is not arriving.

Probable Causes (ranked)

Fix Steps

  1. 1 Manually jog lift to full down position — hold DOWN button 3-5 seconds past normal stop point
  2. 2 Observe sensor LED at the final-down position — it must be solid ON, not flickering
  3. 3 Measure prox sensor gap to target plate with feeler gauge — adjust bracket to close gap by 1-2mm
  4. 4 Verify target plate covers the full sensing face of the sensor — overlap on all edges
  5. 5 Wiggle the M12 sensor connector while watching the PLC input LED — if it flickers, replace connector
  6. 6 In PLC, check the raw input bit — confirm it shows TRUE for at least 100ms before fault clears
  7. 7 Verify inhibit key switch is OFF (run position) before testing lift travel
  8. 8 If LED goes ON but PLC does not see it, swap the PLC input to an adjacent channel to rule out module fault

Field Trick

Cover the sensor face by hand while the lift is up — if PLC input goes ON with your hand covering it, the sensor works fine and the issue is purely target alignment. Adjust the bracket until the lift's own target produces the same result.
